Baptism by itself won't save you - faith in Jesus as your saviour is the way, and is an act of obedience. It is a commitment to Jesus; 'no turning back;' no holding back any aspect of your life from God; it is a prayer for God to cleanse our hearts; follow God quickly; follow Him communially; baptism shows what is to come.
